24. Choice About an hour later someone rang the doorbell. It woke me up. Heard Lauren say something but I was still to drowsy to hear what she was saying or to who. Then Nick walked in. I sat up straight right away. Hi Nick. Brent had fallen asleep to. I nudged him and hissed: Wake up. He opened his eyes. What is it Bellie? he said sleepily. BELLIE? Nick mouthed to me. Never mind. I need to talk to Nick. You can keep sleeping. I took Nick arm and dragged him to the kitchen. When is he leaving. Hes waiting for me to make a decision. You cant seriously be thinking about getting back together with him. Not that its any of YOUR business. But that is not what this is about. My voice broke on the last word. Is this about why you were crying at school today? I nodded. What is it. the anger had completely vanished from his voice. His tone was sympathetic. Trey. Nicks face turned red. He probably thought I was talking about another guy. I didnt know he had such a bad temper. My brother. I added quickly because Nicks face had turned a dangerous looking greenish. You have a brother? Tss. Tact obviously was not Nicks strong side. He had an accident. He might never get his eyesight back. I said and sat down on a chair. I feel horrible. I didnt even tell anyone about him. I know we didnt always get along. But its like I was pretending he didnt exist. And now I couldve lost him before I could have fixed things between us. Ellie, you dont have to blame yourself. I cant help it. Im just grateful he survived. I can fix it. Does that mean you are leaving? I did not know what to make of his tone. He sounded like he didnt care either way. I havent decided yet. Brent wants you to go home. It wasnt a question. It was a fact. It was pretty obvious. I wanted to ask him what he wanted. But I couldnt. You stupid dumb girl. You have to ask him sometime. Ughh. That voice was really starting to irritate me. And it made me feel like I was getting completely wacky. I mean hearing voices is a sign of insanity right? Im a freak. Thats just the way you roll. WHAT??? Are you saying I AM a freak? No, no. thats not what I meant. I was you still havent listened to any of our albums? No. But I dont see what this has to do with anything. Youre not a freak Ellie. Youre amazing. And I got you something? Ohh, prezziee? I sounded like a 5-year-old. Not really. More like returning. You stole my stuff? No.. Not stole. Borrowed. I hate to break it to you Nick but when you borrow something without asking its considered stealing. Ill just give it to you and you wont be mad anymore. I promise. He pulled my grams necklace from his pocket. You took my grams necklace? How could you. I fixed it. What?. He gave it to me and there was a beautiful turquoise stone in the middle. An aquamarine. I said. Yes, its My birthstone. How did you know that? Shouldnt I be the one to ask you that? I smiled. Touché. He said. Its beautiful, Nick. I kissed him on the cheek. Thank you. Youre w-welcome. He muttered, turning a little red. I sighed. Tears were forming in my eyes again. It was odd. Id never cried as much as in the time Id been here. And yet Id never been happier. Nick pulled me closer and hugged me tightly. Itll be ok. He whispered in my ear. I'M IN A GOOD MOOD TODAY SO THEE YOU GO: 2 CHAPTERS ! THIS STORY IS ABOUT DONE BUT I AM GOING TO WRITE A SEQUEL. I ALSO HAVE THIS IDEA FOR ANOTHER STORY SO I NEED TO AKS SOME QUESTIONS: 1. Some alternates have been adopted to be a less expensive substitute for a cut stone. A person's birthday is usually recorded according to the time zone of the place of birth. Thus people born in Samoa at 11:30 PM will record their birthdate as one day before UTC and those born in the Line Islands will record their birthdate one day after UTC. They will apparently be born two days apart, while some of the apparently older ones may be younger in hours. Those who live in different time zones from their birth often exclusively celebrate their birthdays at the local time zone. In addition, the intervention of Daylight Saving Time can result in a case where a baby born second being recorded as having been born up to an hour before their predecessor[4] (but the time the clock is changed back is such that the second of twins does not have an earlier birthday).
